Our Story

Established in 1979, our aim was to promote a better understanding amongst professionals and mainstream organisations in the UK of cultural and social issues affecting the mental well-being of black minority and ethnic people (BME), and to change negative perceptions in the BME communities about mental ill health.

Today, we offer individualised care and support for anyone diagnosed with a mental illness, irrespective of their ethnicity or cultural background. Our ultimate goal is to support individuals’ recovery journey by providing vital support to enable them to fulfil their aspirations.
